Using Deep Purple to stain blots

Does anyone know if Deep Purple can be used to stain blots for total protein prior to probing the membrane with antibody? If so, does the blot need to be destained or can I simply proceed with blocking and probing?
Experiment design necessitates that I stain the blot for total protein (with a fairly sensitive stain) and scan to record the image so that I may overlay the image with the image of the probed blot to identify the protein of interest.

Many thanks!

Thanks,

It can be stained for sure but I have not done it for a while and I do not remember if it needs destaining after... I am not at the lab at the moment so I can't check... but look up the instruction booklet that came with deepurple and it should say...if you do not have it you can probably find it online.
